Its been just over a month since I last posted and when I did, it was about changing to a different type of program vs what I normally ran. Currently I have 4 sessions left in this program (should be the 4 hardest) and the reason you haven’t heard much???? Its been rather uneventful…
With that being said, rather than jump back into my standard conjugate programming there are some things I’ve liked here so I’m going to be “borrowing” portions of this going forward to build my own style of conjugate. Just a list of some of the things I’m going to do in my next program:
- I’m throwing out percentages, all days based on either “what I did last week” or “how I feel today”
- Max effort days changed to circa max days, only being done with comp lifts and will slowly ramp up to a full max
- Number of accessories dropped, number of main lifts increased
- Frequency (4x a week) is kind of remaining the same, kind of changing. I’m still only writing 4 days, 3 other days will be light recovery days where I do comp lifts with low weight
- I’m pulling out speed work because the recovery days should actually take its place. Instead of doing 3×8 at something around 50%, I’ll just do it 8×3
The one thing that I’m keeping in is the fact I don’t write deloads, I just auto regulate. In the past 5 weeks I’ve only had 1 session I’ve had to modify and that had a lot to do with me being under the weather the day before. I will, however, take a dial back week after the cycle I write.
